Hardenable aluminium copper alloy in pressed or drawn version, according to DIN EN 515 / 573 / 754. Different heat treatment conditions like T4 or T4511 are available.
Due to its comparatively high strength values, this material is typically used in aerospace and defence engineering, as well as in general mechanical engineering. Due to the copper content, welding is not recommended as there is a risk of hot cracking; only resistance welding can be considered.
